Mike Griggs
Born and raised as a military brat, I come from a family deeply rooted in service. My father, a proud West Point graduate, dedicated 22 years to the Army. His final assignment brought us to Albuquerque, but after retiring in 1977, he settled our family in Grand Junction. As the oldest of seven kids, I’ve always been surrounded by family—most of whom still live here today, along with their children and grandchildren. Needless to say, when we celebrate, we celebrate big!
I initially stayed in Albuquerque for a few years, but after many visits, I felt the pull of Grand Junction and made the move in 1979. Not long after, I began working in the auto industry, selling cars—a career that not only introduced me to the world of business but also led me to a lifelong friendship with Pete. He was my boss at the time, but soon, we became great friends. Over the years, we've worked together in four different ventures, including Celebration Yard Signs. The car business taught us a lot about people, marketing, and what it means to make a lasting impression.
These days, family gatherings in our household are no small affair—it's not uncommon for 50 to 60 of us to come together to celebrate life's milestones. Between my wife and me, we have five children and 16 grandchildren, so we understand the importance of making moments special. Pete and I wanted to bring that same joy to others in our community, and that's how Celebration Yard Signs was born.
Our goal is simple: to help people celebrate life's big moments in a fun, memorable way. Whether it’s a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or any special occasion, we believe every milestone deserves to be recognized in a BIG way. We look forward to helping you make your celebrations even more special.
Let’s create smiles, one yard at a time!
